ALD Connect Receives $800k in Funding Through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative
On behalf of ALD Connect, I am thrilled to announce that we have been selected for funding through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Rare As One (Cycle Three) program, with a grant for $800,000 over the next five years. This transformative funding will enable us to expand our efforts in driving patient-led research, advancing new therapies, and strengthening our community support programs.
The Rare As One program supports patient-led organizations as they work to accelerate research and improve treatment options for rare diseases. The grant application process was incredibly competitive, with numerous organizations from around the world seeking this level of support. ALD Connect will focus on key initiatives such as expanding our patient-led research network, fostering collaborations with scientists and clinicians, and advocating for better care and resources for the ALD community. We are incredibly grateful to CZI for recognizing the importance of our work.
Thank you to everyone in our community for your ongoing support—we couldn’t achieve these milestones without you! Together, we will continue to push forward in our mission to find better treatments and improve the lives of all those affected by adrenoleukodystrophy.
