ALD Family Weekend

ALD Family Weekend is a unique experience that allows families affected by ALD to connect in a magical environment – The Painted Turtle Camp. The Painted Turtle Camp’s mission is to provide a year-round, life-changing environment for children with life-threatening diseases and their families – one that allows children to participate in an authentic camp experience by supporting their medical needs and offers their families care, education and respite. The program also includes on-site medical and psychological support.

About ALD Family Weekend

Family Weekend is held at the amazing Painted Turtle Camp in Lake Hughes, California. All family members are welcome to attend for free for 4 days of in-person family fun, camp fire sing-a-longs, ropes course, dance parties, arts and crafts, and community building.

Anyone with ALD and their family are welcome. There is no age limit. Activities can be enjoyed by everyone. Additionally, all equipment and program areas are made with modifications for unique differences and wheelchair accessibility, including the swimming pool and ropes course. The retreat is built for any and all ages and we encourage all families to attend to help build a stronger, tighter ALD community.
