Ways to Give to ALD Connect

Every gift to ALD Connect directly supports our mission to improve health outcomes for patients with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) by empowering them, raising awareness, and accelerating the translation of scientific advances into better clinical care. Whether you make a one-time gift, a recurring monthly donation, or include us in your estate plan, your generosity moves us closer to the treatments and cures our community urgently needs.

Become a Recurring Donor

Recurring gifts are among the most powerful ways to fuel our work. When you give monthly, you provide steady, predictable funding that allows us to plan ahead, commit to research timelines, and respond quickly when our community needs support most. Set up your monthly gift in minutes — and change or cancel at any time.

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

Supporters like you play a vital role in expanding ALD Connect’s reach by inviting others to join this mission. Through peer-to-peer fundraising, you can create a personalized campaign, engage your network, and directly accelerate research, care, and community support for families affected by ALD. Whether celebrating a milestone or honoring a loved one, your leadership inspires collective impact.

Leave a Lasting Legacy with Planned Giving

A gift in your will or estate plan is one of the most powerful ways to ensure that ALD Connect’s work continues for generations to come. To learn more or to notify us that you have included ALD Connect in your estate plan, please contact Faith McGown, ALD Connect’s development director at 612.910.4444 or faith.mcgown@aldconnect.org. We would be honored to recognize your generosity and ensure your intentions are documented.

Partner With Us: Giving Options

Your generosity continues to drive meaningful progress in ALD Connect’s mission to improve outcomes for individuals and families affected by adrenoleukodystrophy. To ensure your support is as impactful and convenient as possible, we are pleased to offer the following giving options.

Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a flexible, tax-smart giving account that allows you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to organizations like ALD Connect over time. If you have a DAF at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or any community foundation, you can recommend a grant to us today.

Donate Stock or Appreciated Securities

Donating appreciated stock, mutual funds, or other securities is one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. When you transfer securities directly to ALD Connect, you avoid capital gains tax and may deduct the full fair market value — potentially making your gift go significantly further than a cash donation of the same amount.

To make a gift of securities, please contact Faith McGown, ALD Connect’s development director, for transfer instructions: 612.910.4444 or faith.mcgown@aldconnect.org

IRA Charitable Rollover (Age 70½ and Older)

If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to ALD Connect — up to $105,000 per year (amount indexed to inflation). Known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), this gift counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and is generally excluded from your taxable income, which can provide meaningful tax savings.

To make a QCD, simply contact your IRA administrator and request a direct transfer to ALD Connect. Please notify us so we can acknowledge your gift appropriately.

Double Your Impact - Workplace and Matching Gifts

Many employers match their employees’ charitable contributions — sometimes dollar for dollar, sometimes two-to-one. Check with your HR or benefits department to find out if your company participates in a matching gift program.

Give with Cryptocurrency

ALD Connect accepts cryptocurrency donations, allowing you to support our mission using Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many other digital currencies. Donating appreciated crypto directly — rather than selling it first — may help you avoid capital gains tax while supporting the work you care about.

To make a crypto gift, visit thegivingblock.com or contact us for our wallet address.

Give in Honor or Memory of Someone Special

Honor a loved one — whether celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or milestone, or remembering someone who has passed — with a tribute gift to ALD Connect. We will send a personalized acknowledgment to the person or family you designate, informing them of your thoughtful gift (without disclosing the gift amount).

To make a tribute gift, simply note the honoree’s name and the name and address of the person to be notified in the tribute field of your online donation, or contact Faith McGown at 612.910.4444 or faith.mcgown@aldconnect.org.

Give Your Time and Talents

ALD Connect is powered by a community of passionate volunteers and supporters. Whether you have professional skills to contribute — in science, communications, legal, finance, or technology — or simply want to help spread the word, we welcome your involvement.
