Andrea graduated in Biochemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, and completed her Master’s in Drug Discovery and Development at the University of Vienna, Austria. She joined the laboratory of Dr. Isabelle Weinhofer at the Medical University of Vienna in 2019 during her master’s studies and continued there for her recently completed PhD.
Main Area of Research: Andrea investigates the interplay between lipid metabolism and inflammatory processes, and how these interactions shape neuroinflammatory diseases, including X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy.
